This is how much VCs rely on their gut feeling when investing - and not on the numbers

A new study provides rare insights into the investment behavior of venture capitalists. Surprisingly, it is not always the numbers that decide in due diligence.

What makes the venture capital scene in Europe tick? Which criteria lead European venture capitalists to financing decisions? The Austrian early-stage investor Speedinvest and the Technical University of Munich want to show this in a new study. To do so, they surveyed 437 investors across Europe (most of them in Germany) - with some surprising results.
